Blown The Budget

I have just taken the time to read back 5 days of blog posts, wow am I behind I knew I had been a bit slack lately but I had no idea I had been MIA for that long.
As usual I am blown away by how well some of my favourite bloggers are doing with theyre debt repayments. I said at the beginning of the month that I was hoping to save around the $1,000 mark, but after 18 days I am still a long way away from making that happen as we had an unexpected car repair plus The Foxx needed new tires on his car.
Looks like June's budget has taken a nose dive, but I have not given up as yet, yes we may not hit the $1,000 we would like to hit but anything is going to be better than nothing. So it's onwards and upwards.
After decorating in my toilet area last week I have decided to freshen up my Lounge Room but only if we are given another year's lease, normally they let us know in July as our lease expires in August, so this means either one of two things a rent increase or removal costs, I know which one I'm hoping for...

  1. I love the thinking cat! We could all do with a "thinking cat" :)

Car expenses are just the worst...at least if they don't blow you out of the water completely, it's a good thing. Onwards and upwards!

    1. I stole the photo from one of my facebook friends, so cute.
Cars are definitely one of the variables in a budget, I think Murphy must be our back seat driver....

  2. If you were able to cover the unexpected car expenses without adding new debt then you are doing great! That is what saving and creating space in your budget is all about.

Love the Thinking Cat photo. My dog loves cats and little kittens.

    1. Juhli you are absolutely right I just had'nt thought of it in that way, I was to busy being negative instead of positive.

We used to have two large fierce looking Rottweillers who turned to mush at the sight of a Cat or kitten..

  3. So the decorating bug got you too, huh? :) I absolutely blew our repair/house decor budget in June. I'm on a decor diet until July (and hopefully, much longer:)

  4. Yes it did and does, I am still wandering the house looking to see where I can make more changes. It has been years since I did any decorating or buying for the home, having said that I am looking for frugal ways of decorating...

  5. Well of course you've been MIA, so would I if I had a new grandson!! However there does seem to be some correlation between NOT writing posts and BLOWING one's budget. Believe me, I know!
